    • First leg of American Ambassador Sevens series swept away
      • 11 Sep 2012
      • Wellington Rugby Football Union
      • It was exciting while it lasted, but unfortunately the first leg of the 2012 American Ambassador Sevens series at the Polo Ground at Miramar on Saturday was abandoned during pool play on account of the freak weather that swept through Wellington in the afternoon.

      • Petone Rugby Club
      • The Polo Ground in Miramar was the setting for our most important match to date in the 2012 season. Coming off such a disappointing display against Tawa 7 days earlier, we needed a much improved performance against the defending 2011 Jubilee Cup champions who always raise the bar whenever they face the villagers.

      • 8 Days a week - There are probably a few names for playing 3 games in 8 days and Coach Killer is probably one. On Saturday Ories had the Premiers at Maoribank, Senior 1sts at Ngati Toa, Senior 2nds at Delaney and Colts at Polo, all playing at the same time so to say resources were stretched is an understatement. To come away with 3 wins out of 4 is a great result and a credit to the coaches and players. On Wednesday the Prems, S1st and S2nd play again then on Saturday once more – certainly not the greatest decision by the WRFU.

    • 2012 Premier League Matchday reports
      • 16 Apr 2012
      • Stop Out Sports Club
      • After an entertaining opening game at Hutt Park it was off to Miramar to take on Miramar Rangers. With the great surface of Davey F having some work done, the game was relocated to a pitch right at the other end of the scale, Miramar Park. Both teams were playing a fairly cautious game in the first 20 minutes as they looked to come to grips with the difficult surface and it became clear that the team who made least defensive mistakes would probably pick up the points today.

    • End of the Wellywood saga
      • 21 Nov 2011
      • Wellington International Airport
      • After almost two years of debate on the hot topic “Wellywood,” the winner has blown away its rivals. The public have discussed, debated, protested, submitted ideas, voted, pranked, celebrated and out of these emotions came “Wellington – blown away”. “Wellington - blown away” is a concept put together by a group of creatives from advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi. The vote has become the talk of the town with ‘what did you vote for’ becoming a popular question to ask friends, family and even politicians.

I have a blog based upon on the same topics you discuss and would really like to have you share some stories/information. I know my audience would appreciate your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free to shoot me an e-mail. ’
        • ‘I truly hope that are not so deluded as to think that marriage is required for sexual reproduction. I know many people who chose not to have children, and yet remain as happily married couples. Why? Because marriage is about love. It’s not about being a pair of reproductive organisms. ’
        • ‘I am talking about “marriage” as regards society. If homosexuals want children they are going to have to use the egg or sperm of a donor – they are incapable themselves of ever reproducing their love as heterosexuals are – therefore “marriage” for them does not and cannot ever exist and that makes the law a farce. ’

    • Wellywood row heats up as cement goes down
      • 17 Aug 2011
      • Newswire.co.nz
      • FOUNDATIONS for what looks suspiciously like the Wellywood sign have been cemented into the hill above Wellington Airport. But airport authorities say the work is designed to fit any sign or sculpture and the final decision will come out of a public competition being launched this week. The work is simply “ground preparation and reinforcement” says Kat Lintott, marketing and communications advisor for Wellington International Airport.
