Celebrating 100 years – Laying of the Foundation Stone
- 31 Jan 2010
- St Alban’s Anglican Church
- At a service held on the 31/1/10 the 100th Anniversary of the Laying of the Foundation Stone was commemorated in the first of the centenary celebrations. One hundred years ago, Septuagesima Sunday was a lovely day [just like this one]. It was also a day which gave visible expression to the faith of a small group of committed Anglicans in this community. After just eight years of occasional and then weekly worship in and around the scattered settlement of Eastbourne, the local Church of England committee was poised to begin building the first Anglican church in the district.

Lazarus, come forth!
- 4 Nov 2009
- St Alban’s Anglican Church
- Some of our families gathered last night in the church grounds for a Halloween event with a difference. The children dressed up in fairly bizarre outfits, including one who carried around with him the head of a martyred saint, and they, as a group, went knocking on selected houses hoping to receive a friendly response.
