    • Womens B v Petone Pulse 14/6/2009
      • BNU women's B 3-1 Loss to Petone Pulse The Sunday morning early game proved a bit much for what can only be described as an unlucky game :( BNU women's B started strong  with a load of shots on goal and some really great team work dominating the possession in the first 20 minutes.  Petone started a player short but soon picked up the pace with some higher grade recruits.  BNU had all the opportuni

    • It’s Swonderful!
      • Swonderful is having a re-launch party tonight to celebrate their new downtown Wellington location AND to showcase a new collection of nostalgic-watercolour paintings by local artist Sally Shand! Woohoo! Swonderful is a cute little boutique store that is the brainchild of mother and daughter super-duo Frances and Virginia McMullen.  Originally based in Brooklyn, the duo decided to make the m

    • BNU Gymnasium Development
      • Over the last few months the Committee has been looking at options for the gymnasium development. This investigation has shown that a partnership with other organisations is the most viable way of developing the building and can offer the club a number of other benefits as well. In short, the idea is to establish a partnership for the use and management of the gym so that we will continue to have the use of the facility in the long term.

    • BNU Thirds v Lower Hutt Ancient Ones - 6/6/2009
      • BNU Thirds 0-1 Lower Hutt Ancient Ones - 06/6/09 "…all we want is a decent referee…a decent referee…a decent referee" Supporting the BNU Brazilians (or Thirds as we call ourselves to avoid slander lawsuits from the Brazilian FA) is fast becoming on a par with supporting the Phoenix.  We only have one player who can score goals, a terrible home record and no hope of winning any silverware; the othe

    • Womens B v Wanuiomata 7/6/2009
      • 3-1 Victory for BNU Womens B Vs Wainuiomata The Sunday match looked to be another wintery experience but the trip over the hill showed the gods were smiling over Wainuiomata as the clouds cleared just in time for kick off.  BNU was due a win and were quietly confident over a new Wainuiomata side still finding their feet.

      • BNU16 2 v Wellington Utd Legends 0 St John to the rescue! As dusk approached on MacAlister 2, two teams were still seen battling it out in an excellent game that would not have not looked out of place a dozen grades higher. Sadly, one Legends player missed the concluding 30 minutes of the encounter, after suffering a nasty shoulder dislocation. We agreed to leave him prone on the field of play, co

    • Womens B v Kapiti 31/5/2009
      • A cold, wet, muddy and steamy draw (BNU 1 – Kapiti 1) You can’t beat Wellington on a good day… and with hail stones the size of marbles, hundred-mile-an-hour gales and a wind chill factor of about minus 20, the BNU girls took to the pitch at Happy Valley.  These were perfect conditions for some slip-sliding muddy tackles and desperate attempts to send a wet, brown ball in the vague direction of th

    • BNU16 v Naenae Nighthawkes 30/5/2009
      • Naenae Nighthawks 1 v BNU16 2 Last gasp victory at Naenae Centre-back Mike Bransfield atoned for last week’s unfortunate OG by grabbing a dramatic winner for BNU with seconds remaining on the clock at Seddon Street. His deft near post finish, from a pinpoint Carl Roberts corner, earned a deserved victory for Brooklyn in a tightly fought contest. Naenae played their part in an open, keenly conteste

    • BNU Thirds v Petone Armani’s - 30/5/09
      • BNU Thirds 1 - Petone 8 Rearguard in tatters following a designer spanking Following on from last weeks encouraging result (match postponed) we went into the game against the top team full of enthusiasm. Despite fielding a weakened team due to missing a few players because of the long weekend, we competed well for the first 5 minutes before experiencing first hand why the Armani’s are top - their

    • AGM 7pm 30th June 2009 Brooklyn Resource Centre
      • We are approaching our Annual General Meeting at the end of the month and I cordially invite you to come along. In fact, it would be fantastic if you could. While we are looking for more volunteers, we will not be press ganging anyone onto the committee if they do not want to join. We will have some of our Council officials there to get their opinions on where they see Wellington is at and is heading, and we should have time to have an overview on a number of the topical issues in front of us at present.

    • Premier v Kapiti Coast - 01/06/09 - D 1-1
      • On the Queens Birthday, while she was sipping high tea and giggling at a re-run of Coronation Street, we were freezing our bits off chasing a few bits of stitched together leather around a paddock.Wakefield Number 1 looked like it had been used by the NZ Army for Tank Wars, so the match was transfered all the way over to Brooklyn's home ground, Wakefield Number 2. Ahhhhhh, much better............;
