- Hidden in the hills of Pōneke lies Aro Valley, a suburb filled with rich history. In fact, Aro Street used to have a tram line that linked it to the railway station, which operated until the 1950s! Waimapihi: The story behind Garrett Street's new mural
- Wellington City Council
- The buried stream Waimapihi tracks underground from Aro Valley, through Garrett Street, and out to the Wellington Harbour. Named after Mapihi, a rangatira who used to bathe in the awa, the historical significance of the site is honoured through the new mural by artist Izzy Joy.

Community Hall upgrade child’s play in Aro Valley
