Two vessels were "rafted up" on a mooring in the channel. The mooring appears to have broken below the waterline and the vessels were swept onto the rail bridge with the incoming tide.

Coastguard Mana were alerted to a Facebook post a member of the public had posted and went to invetigate. After assessing the situation it was decided to get them off quickly to minimise damage and risk to trains. A callout was activated and a number of people responded to tow them off the bridge and into the marina.

<description>Above: Tawa lock Filisione Koloamatangi had a top game in his side's title defence opener at Lyndhurst Park Wellington club rugby round-up week one first edition: A maiden Wellington Premier club rugby win for the Upper Hutt Rams and an ominous warning from defending champions Tawa that they are again the team to beat this year, in an action-packed opening round of Swindale Shield matches played around the Wellington region today. For the most part, the opening round was super-competitive, with only Tawa's six tries to two 50-14 win over the Hutt Old Boys Marist Eagles the only blowout score of the six games played under ashen skies and in a moderate wind...</description>

<title>Bikes free on trains from July 1</title>
      <link>http://wellingtonista.com/bikes-free-on-trains-from-july-1</link>
