With a large number of the Tuatara brewery staff being based in Wellington it does make sense for Tuatara to start something more centrally so that at least not everyone has to spend a couple of hours everyday driving to Kapiti.

A southerly front

Yesterday’s forecast thunderstorm didn’t quite arrive in central Wellington (rainfall was impressive, though, and the twittersphere reports there were a few bangs and flashes out in the Hutt and Kapiti way — anyone else?), but the front itself was an impressive meteorological phenomenon.

The Waiting For God Commission

Let's have a little competition - the NZ Retirement Commissioner, Diana Crossan, says she's wanted a change of name for the Commission for several years, but no-one has coined a suitable name.

Bikes free on trains from July 1

In an effort to encourage people to leave their cars at home, Greater Wellington has announced that from July 1 this year, bikes can ride on trains for free. At the moment, travelling by rail with your bike will cost you another adult fare. Sounds like a good idea to us.

Looking for something to do with all these loooong, sunny days we're having? Let me recommend a trip to the Southward Car Museum, just north of Paraparaumu.
Driving into the carpark you feel like you've spent back in time - to the 1960s.
