Lake Ferry Wastewater Treatment Plant – discharge pipeline break

- Third-party work undertaken near the Lake Ferry Wastewater Treatment Plant has damaged the discharge pipework that takes wastewater from the plant to the irrigation fields. This has resulted in discharge of partially treated wastewater into the nearby wetlands. The discharge was stopped at approximately 1pm.

Mt Albert sludge pipeline repair a step closer to completion

- Wellington Water has this weekend installed a high-strength liner through the first of two 1.8km sludge pipelines beneath Mt Albert. The unique operation took just over nine hours of continuous work led by the Germany-based team that manufactured the high-tech liner, and were given special permission by the Government to enter the country.

Watering restrictions ease for Greytown and Featherston

- Watering restrictions have been eased today for Greytown and Featherston. Increased rainfall and a steady decline in water demand with the change in season means that limited use of garden sprinklers and irrigation systems is fine. However, as rainfall in Martinborough has been light, hand-held only watering restrictions remain in place for now.
