      • The Human Rights Film Festival premieres next Thursday (May 7th) with the film Kicking It – a ball can change your life. The film follows the progress of seven Homeless Football World Cup players as they confront the daily challenges of life on the streets, battle drug and alcohol addiction, and fight for the right to be recognised as human beings.

    • Free Public Screening: Homelessness in NZ

      • A free screening of the New Zealand documentary “Putting Homelessness in Focus” is being held next Friday. The 30 minute movie was released earlier this year and is making its way around the country with free public viewings. Wellington City Gallery will host the screening at 6pm on Friday the 30th of May and all are welcome to attend.

      • Green Party Fisheries Spokesperson, Gareth Hughes, will join South Wellington residents for a beach cleanup between Owhiro Bay and Island Bay this evening. "Litter from this beach blows and washes into Taputeranga Marine Reserve which is home to over 180 species of fish. It is my pleasure to be part of the message that it is our responsibility to take care of our environment," Mr Hughes said today.
