    • In true Wellington Council style, the games that they should axe go ahead and visa versa, so it was with no surprise that following torrential rain on Friday night and Saturday morning we’d be playing. Now I ain’t grumbling about it, cos we ain’t played since 26th June and anymore cancellations means that we have to play ‘double headers’ (Saturdays and Sundays). So I was as happy as an octopus with sixteen legs and given the state of the water on the park, maybe being a cephalopod would have faired well.

    • An injury-plagued Slapperz journeyed to Petone Memorial 4 to take on the Armani's. With Steve-O and Barts on the sideline nursing aches and pains, we were all hoping for an injury free match. No luck there, I'm afraid, with Gazz limping off after just 1 minute with a nasty looking recurrence of his injury. Fortunately, Striker Barts gallantly came to the rescue and played the remaining 89 minutes up front.

    • On a Saturday that everyone assumed the games would be cancelled the mighty Karori Slapperz were transferred to Adventure Park in Whitby. After a mission for some of the fellas to find the park we assembled out the front of the changing rooms on what was actually a fine day for a game of football, sunny with a light southerly breeze. The team managed to pick itself due to injuries and absences.

    • A controversial decision by Wellington Soccer to close the home of football, resulted in a late ground and time change to 12.30 at McAllister Park. The guys turned up, still obviously miffed by this disappointment. It is every young Karori players dream to run out onto on the No.1 turf in the 2.30 time slot when the whole community can be heard cheering on the black and whites from the welcoming pavilion balcony setting.

    • Legends, known for their pointless pretty boy passing from defence to midfield without actually getting a ball in the box are like a rubbish version of The Arsenal, but managed to give the Slapperz a right run around all day especially in the middle. Despite this, the Slapperz took an early lead when Geeza put though a ball for Story to bang in his 11th of the season 1-0.

    • The Slapperz faced Wellington United in round 11, a team whom we beat 4-2 in the first round in a scrappy performance. The return leg proved to be a much better performance by the Slapperz as they put Wellington to the sword, comfortably coming away with a 4-0 win.
