      • “Lambton Quay barristers blow each other away in a Thorndon Quay duel.” This story was unearthed by a research team from Victoria University’s Faculty of Law. Research team member Dr Shaunnagh Dorsett says the story is about two Wellington barristers. In New Zealand up to 1877 there were 30 duels recorded, however the Ross-Brewer duel was the first that resulted in death.
